This certainly does look like the mouth parts of a leech!
The area surrounding the "mouthparts" gives a slimey feeling, also in-line with the leech idea.
You seem to put more thought into the "meaning" or subject of your fractal work than other fractal artists...I like this very much!
What software package are you using?
